Although here at Stained Glass Denver we do all sorts of residential and commercial stained glass, we have to admit to a special passion for church stained glass. Perhaps it’s because this art form has such a long and glorious history of inclusion in churches of all kinds, across the globe. Or perhaps it’s because many of our residential clients choose leaded stained glass, colorless, whereas most church stained glass is vividly and excitingly colored. Perhaps it’s because we greatly honor and admire the glass artists who created the exquisite masterpieces in the church stained glass windows of old and appreciate any opportunity to follow in their footsteps.

Or perhaps we just love the opportunity to provide gorgeous, custom designed and hand built stained glass that can enhance a congregation’s worship experience. All in all, at Stained Glass Denver we are always honored and excited to get a commission to build church stained glass, whether that consists of one small window or a massive wall of windows.

We work with builders on new construction and with the pastor or fundraising committee of existing churches to design something custom for that church, and ensure they can bring it in on budget.

When it comes to church stained glass, no two Denver churches have the same idea about what they want. Some are more interested in traditional church stained glass, the kind that tells a story or scene from the Bible, shows a religious icon or saint, or gives a traditional message in symbols. Others want something more simple, or more modern in feel, which might be a better fit with their congregation or their building’s modern architecture.

A simple church stained glass design could consist of a symbol of peace, such as a dove, a simple cross, or even an abstract or geometric design that brings beauty to the church, without being a literal interpretation of any religious symbolism. It’s all up to you and your church’s needs.

We will send one of our designers to your church to meet with you and discuss various design concepts, working until we find the perfect one. Then, we’ll make the blueprint for the design using CAD software, and assign it to one of our master stained glass builders.

For over thirty years, Martin has been running his company in Denver using the techniques he learned as a stained glass artisan in Scotland. He has devoted his life's work to perfecting the art form and studying its history. Martin's company specializes in custom creations, which are made using the highest quality materials and authentic, original designs. In addition to residential and commercial stained glass, the company also offers services for churches and religious buildings. Over the years, Stained Glass Denver has completed numerous restorations of historic stained glass and produced over 50,000 windows.
